VSA Developmental Program

Vision Soccer Academy

The VSA Developmental Program (VSA DP) is a supplementary training program conducted by experienced and qualified VSA coaching staff. It is not designed to replace a player’s Recreational practices or games but instead to complement them. U07 and U8 players with a heightened interest in the sport should consider participating in VSA DP to help improve their skills through proper instruction and regular training.

Ages: 7-8
Dates: 8 Mondays, Aug. 30-Oct. 25 (not including 9/6)
Time: 5:30-6:30 pm
Location: VSA of Waukee Complex
Cost: $65 if registered before Aug. 15/$75 after Aug. 15

Nate Sammler and Ashley Thielen will co-direct the boys’ side of the program. Nate played two years of Division I soccer at Charleston Southern and played in the NCAA tournament. Jon played club soccer for Iowa State University. Both coaches have vast experience coaching club level soccer and both coaches hold a USSF "D" license. Ashley played two years at Division I Western Illinois before finishing her career at Grand View College and currently is pursuing her USSF license.

August 30; September 13, September 20, September 27; & October 4, October 11, October 18, October 25

1 vintage “dp” jersey
8 Training sessions focused on proper technique for:

footwork
dribbling
passing
receiving
shooting

Seasons & Training:
VSA DP players are grouped with others similar in ability and they participate in training sessions conducted by VSA coaching staff. There are typically eight training sessions per season and the program operates during the fall, winter, spring and summer.

Training sessions are an hour and fifteen minutes in length and except for our winter offering are usually held on Monday evenings at the VSA of Waukee Complex. The winter session will be conducted indoors through one of the Waukee Community District school gymnasiums.

Typical times are as follows:
VSA of Waukee Complex – Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 PM
